King Edward Medical University (KEMU), Lahore invites applications for two-year Postgraduate Diploma Programs for the 2026–2028 session. Admissions are merit-based and finalized through a university-conducted entry examination.

Eligibility criteria

Qualification: MBBS or equivalent recognized by the Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC).

Registration: Valid registration with PM&DC.

Provisional registration: Valid provisional registration with PM&DC (as applicable).

Entry examination structure and merit

Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) aligned with PM&DC Basic Sciences and relevant postgraduate tracks (FCPS/MDS/MS/MD/MRCP/MRCS/MRCOG).

Total marks: 150

Written paper: 100 marks

Interview: 50 marks

Written paper: 120 single-best MCQs.

Basic sciences distribution:

Anatomy: 10

Physiology & Biochemistry: 10

Pathology: 10

Pharmacology: 10

General Medicine: 10

General Surgery: 10

Clinical sciences: Included; candidates must score ≥50% to pass the written paper.

Interview call: Only for candidates who pass the written paper (≥50%).

Result declaration: To pass the entry exam, candidates must secure ≥50% in each component (written and interview) and ≥60% overall (combined).

Validity: Entry exam is valid only for the current session.

Admission: Passing the exam does not guarantee admission—final selection is strictly merit-based and subject to available training slots.

Admission fee: Rs. 5,000

Registration fee: Rs. 5,000

Tuition fee: Rs. 57,500

Sports charges: Rs. 500

Library security: Rs. 5,000

Entry exam & application fee: Rs. 3,000 (non-refundable), payable via KEMU bank deposit or original pay order.

General clauses

Highly competitive: Training slots are limited and offered strictly on top merit.

Training is not a job.

No hostel accommodation provided by the University.

For regular P&SHD and SHC&ME employees: If selected on merit, they may pursue Level-III clinical diploma programs after obtaining NOC for EOL only—no deputation. No simultaneous job and study in the same or other institution during the course.

Admit card collection: From the Office of the Controller of Examinations during working hours on 08.02.2026.

Key dates and instructions

Application window: 05.01.2026 to 20.01.2026 (during working hours), submit in person or via courier to the Assistant Registrar (Academics).

Entry examination: Tuesday, 17.02.2026, 9:00 AM–12:00 PM.

Admit cards: Issued by the Controller of Examinations; email address is mandatory—without it, admit card will not be issued.

Submission rules:

Applications received after due date or incomplete will not be entertained.

Email submissions are not accepted.

Forms must include original fee deposit slip/pay order and all supportive documents.

Merit-based: Entry exam conducted by the University; results and admissions are granted on merit.
